Q1. HI! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF,?
Thanks for the time you’ve taken to interview me, my name is Karim Karaboue, I’m a cinematographer/content creator. I cater to elites and celebrities within the industry. I have come from a background specialising in music videos and have worked with brands like MTV, complex magazine, Noisey, Netflix etc.
Q2. THE “CONTENT CREATOR” TITLE IS RELATIVELY NEW TO THE INDUSTRY. WHAT IS A CONTENT CREATOR FROM YOUR PERSPECTIVE?
A content creator is essentially someone who is able to export the creative ideas from their minds or clients minds into a format/style that can be viewed and understood by everyone in my opinion.
Q3. EVERY BRAND IS SO UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT. HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH A STRATEGY FOR TELLING A BRAND’S STORY?
I find that if the focus is on the brand creators story and not just the brand itself it enables the fans to be able to connect with the brand on a deeper level. instead of coming up with fancy strategies, I am focused more on the core of the brand creator and why they created the brand in the first place. Everyone loves a story. being able to focus on the brains behind the brand is my main focus whenever I work with a brand.
Q4. HOW DO YOU MEASURE THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR CONTENT MARKETING?
The proof is in the pudding! As i rule of thumb I look at the feedback to gauge the success and impact of a campaign or a project but there is no better proof than analytics.
Q5. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU FACE AS A CONTENT CREATOR?
I guess one of the biggest challenges I face is expressing the deep values of a brand in a way that can cater to the average person whose attention span is lower than a few seconds. A lot of brands and businesses I have been honoured to work with have really deep enriching stories behind their logos and verified ticks, but being able to showcase this in a way that the average everyday person can understand can be a bit tricky at times. But in the end, I am always able to produce a masterpiece.
Q6. WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
I don’t have 1 single GCSE, I don’t know what it’s like to go to a college or a university I have been completely self-taught from the age of 14. But elites want to always work with me hahaha
Q7. ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
I have a private project I am working on with Netflix and amazon prime that features my mentor who is a business/real estate mogul and a bunch of different entrepreneurs. I don’t want to talk too much about the project right now but in due time all will be seen.
