Moto G5S Plus Specifications:
The Moto G5S plus comes with a 5.5-inch Full-HD display and IPS LCD screen. It runs on Android Nougat and sports the Snapdragon 625 chipset. Only the 4GB RAM version of the phone will be sold in India and contain a storage of 64GB. The primary dual cameras of the phone are both 13 megapixels with an aperture of f/2.0 and have depth sensing feature. The front camera has an 8-megapixel camera sensor and both the sides of the phone have LED flash.
The phone has a dual hybrid SIM slot, and the memory of the phone can be expanded up to 128GB. Moto G5S Plus supports VoLTE, fast charging and a battery of 3000 mAh.
Moto G5S Specifications:
The Moto G5S comes with a 5.2-inch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The SoC used in the handset is Snapdragon 430. Like the G5S, it comes with 4GB RAM but 32GB onboard storage. The cameras in this model see a dip in specs and primary shooter is a single camera of 16 megapixels sensor while the front camera is equipped with a 5MP sensor, both with f/2.0 aperture. Both side, front and the back of the phone, have LED flash to improve the low light performance of the camera.
The hybrid SIM tray of the phone takes care of the storage and dual SIM settings. This model also supports VoLTE, fast charging and has a battery of 3000 mAh.
If your current phone happens to have a chipset of Snapdragon 625 or a higher end one, then you can safely ignore the option of buying this phone. Moto G5S plus can be considered as a Moto G5 Plus with camera improvements, while Moto G5S is an improvement of Moto G5 with the new Snapdragon 435 chipset. If you are looking for a good camera phone between the budget and midrange segment, then Moto G5S plus is worth a choice. The phone is expected to get quicker Android updates against the competition and comes with an almost-stock Android experience.
Talking about the cons, the camera bump behind the headset can be a deal breaker. The speaker output is not as great as the Moto G5 Plus which has a dual speaker support.
